Review of Remic’s SIM….

Fabulous review of SIM over  at Theresa Derwin’s Terror Tree…….

“This novel is new  territory for Remic. He experiments with language, the emotionless drugged tone  at the beginning of the novel changing with D’s emotional development. Remic dances and plays with language twisting his words to match the ambience of each section… In his growth as a ‘human being’ D becomes the ultimate rebel against a constricted and bigoted society that classes SIMs as less than human… it’s full of violence and gore as you would expect from Remic, yet feels very new with the experimentation he undertakes, challenging the reader as the novel switches tone frequently. Nevertheless, SIMis a bloody good book and a bargain to boot!”

SIM the soundtrack album

th3 m1ss1ng

SIM - the album can be purchased from for £2.49.

10 original tracks, total running time 36 mins 22 secs.

The accompanying SIM SOUNTRACK is composed and recorded by th3
, a kind of BLADERUNNER / VANGELIS / NINE INCH NAILS music hybrid.

“This novel will have a particular resonance if you meet the two following criteria (1) you enjoy your science fiction fast paced (2) You are a fan of cats… It would be wrong
however to dismiss this as just a pulpy, violent science fiction tale. Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of that going on, but there is also the relationship between Justice D and Emmy. This adds extra layers of depth to the plot and provides nice insight into D discovering his humanity… the faceless GOV regime is a nice referential nod to the totalitarian societies featured in films like Logan’s Run and books like 1984.”

“JUSTICE D – psychopath, sociopath,  assassin, cat-lover. But when they take his beloved Emmy, GOV will have to redefine the word HARDCORE…”

Meet Justice D, a Justice SIM umbilicated since birth who killed his own mother. Used by GOV as a hardcore merciless killer hunting down rebs in the dregs, Justice D has little emotion. His biggest hobby is upgrading his armour, weapons and augmentations, taking mandrake narco and listening to groovy groovy MM.

For decades now, humanity has been colour-blind, a disability inflicted – so GOV believes – by a disease named HRG/Canker and carried by all animals across the planet. As the scientist Cantrell discovers the causes for Canker, so GOV begin a global culling of all animals in order to save Humanity…

On a patrol in the dregs, Justice D is saved by a cat which he calls Emmy. He soon learns to love his cat, until GOV discover his secret… and send Battle SIMs to shut him down…

“Put your gun down and step away from the cat!”

th3 m1ss1ng

“Have you figured out where the key is?” – ‘grey’, th3 m1ss1ng

Things are unravelling, revealing themselves, pieces of a jigsaw,
writing on a wall, spokes in a wheel, whatever. We got into James’s flat and
wished we hadn’t. On the surface there are no traces here of the person we
know. There are no signatures, no signs, no trails, no clues. This could be
anyone’s flat. It could be a red herring, some elaborate hoax. A trick. A joke.
I’d laugh, but I’ve lost my sense of humour in all this. After all, James still
hasn’t been in contact. Then we found notebooks. Lots of notebooks. Some video
tapes, some dat cassettes, cds and photos. The flat works as some sort of
disguise, completely anonymous, but in his wardrobe, we found what we had been
looking for, what James had led us to.

th3 m1ss1ng is an art project consisting of both
music and film. We have been collaborating on various works since January 2008
and have released music with accompanying video footage. There is no
description of the music in this blurb…

There are three core members, but the project
involves collaborations from many others including writers, artists and
filmmakers. th3 m1ss1ng also collaborate with other artists as long as they
involve the same ethics and politics. We have been credited with music on one
film to date with others in the pipeline. Each of the core members live in
different areas of the UK and all of the work is either done in isolation, or
collaboratively via the internet. The group rarely meet and do not write music
nor film together in the same location.

…dear stranger, thank you for your
interest…help us tell our story to the world; this is all independent…

and turned to a life of crime and blood!”

- Jordan Reyne, Musician.

“F***ing awesome! Chaos personified! Powerful, eclectic, original, by
turns both psychopathic and idyllic, thundering and delicate, and showering the

since Nine Inch Nails – and that, my friend, is a damn fine compliment

- Andy Remic, Author.

“th3 m1ss1ng provide a tormented and compelling electronica soundtrack

to Andy Remic’s new masterpiece ‘Serial Killers Incorporated’.”
